Others call it their dream home. For the inhabitants, it's ground zero and the headquarters of 406 Media, located inside Wolroy House, a historic building on Buitenkant Street in Cape Town.
Purchased as an empty shell in 2004, the dusty space transformed into an open canvas, slowly evolving into the ever-changing home you'll find today. Office by day, apartment at night, behind the black door on the 4th floor lies unit 406.
Security footage and reports for past visitors can confrim that those who enter 406, never leave the same.
Known by some as the "party palace", 406 has seen many friends and plenty of faces entering the black door on the 4th floor, some struggling to leave. You see, there's more to 406 than what meets the eye. Reactions of first-time visitors will confirm this.
Haunted by the memories of yesterday and many moons ago, the walls hold the stories of the people who experienced a place where peace and love come together. Or at least, on most occasions. One can never tell who's knocking, when the house is rocking...
